DARWIN’S BEAGLE TO SAIL AGAIN

At stand K70 of the Earls Court Boat Show details of the most significant anniversaries in science.
It will see the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his world changing book "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection".
It was on board HMS Beagle that Darwin formed the ideas that challenged the old world order, as the vessel circumnavigated the globe from 1831 to 1836. The original Beagle is long since gone- its bones are thought to lie in the mud at Paglesham in Essex – but there are exciting and bold plans to build a new Beagle to take Darwin's work and legacy into a new age as a resource for scientific research, education and adventure.
But to make it happen The HMS Beagle Trust needs your help. Like Darwin's original voyage the project is working without public funding. To contribute and find out more about this project visit www.thebeagleproject.com
